A lot has been going on around the world with terrorist attacks and I won´t make the problem appear small. We are all in shock at such terrible happenings and yet as the silent majority, I do wonder what we are all doing to stop this happening again.
The majority of people be it Germany in the Second World War, Japan or China where atrocities have happened did not want the murder committed in their name. Yet the minority won. There is a lesson here to be learned and I don´t have the answer I just wish I did.
A facebook showed a report of a man throwing himself onto a suicide bomber and by his selfless act of losing his life he saved 100´s of others from death or serious injury. Would I be that sacrificial for mankind!
Be the change you wish to see in the world – Ghandi
It may only be a small step and it won´t be winning the war against terrorism, under any name but there must be something we can do and then I found this. A friend has a great idea and I wanted to share it with you all.
It´s a small way to open hearts and give back and as Joanne herself says, it could be any of us in the future spending Christmas alone! Please have a read and just maybe donate or even set one up in your area.
Christmas Dinner Appeal – Joanne Rice
So last year I wanted to do something to help the old folk in the area at Christmas time. Sadly my hands were full and I wasn’t 100% myself! But this year (after meeting a guy called Ted) I’ve decided to try and put something together I’ve found a venue who will allow me to do Christmas dinner for a small number (about 40) of older people who may not have friends or family to spend Christmas Day with. I’ve done some research and spoken to Halton council (UK>) who are happy to put me in touch with people they think would benefit from this (I’m also going to put a few signs up in the local area). I’m putting it up here on good old Facebook as I’m hoping that people’s hearts are open after seeing the John Lewis/AgeUk advert
and that you all have compassion oozing through your bodies wondering what to do with it all! If anyone feels that they would like to offer some help or give a donation however big or small that could be put to organising this event then I would be extremely grateful. If anybody has links to local companies that you think may help then feel free to tag them. Any other ideas and suggestions are welcome….no negative comments tho please

We may not have perfection in our world, lets hope we can find the people out there who will continue to strive towards a better world and let them become the ones who lead us away from the minority concentrating on war and death.
