Intuition – what is it?

Dictionary definition…..
Intuition, a phenomenon of the mind, describes the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the use of reason. The word “intuition” comes from Latin verb intueri translated as consider or from late middle English word intuit, “to contemplate”.

And I guess that is a good description of it, others may say its ¨a gut feeling´. Somehow you just know when something is right and I have had many experiences of that in my life. Am I more attuned to intuition or is it just that I am more prepared to listen.

The more I listened with my body, not just my head, the more I could tell which direction was right for me. Your body will give you a wellness check or perhaps its more authentic in what it wants in life. Listening with your head leads you down the path of consumerism, wanting things, thinking you need that new car or that new iphone when in reality your body is craving for you to get off the treadmill and take time to smell the coffee. Funny it used to be smell the roses so I guess that goes to show how in our busy lives we have yet again moved from nature and nurture into amazing consumerism and mass marketing!

So sit and contemplate, meditate or just take time for a chill pill and listen with your body and let intuition be your guide. It can seem frightening, like moving to a new country and yet if you follow that path amazing things can happen with belief and trust.

Where will yours take you?
