It’s that time of year when family and friends decide that it is a good time to visit you. The children have broken up from school. The flights are getting expensive but low cost accommodation is looking good in these cost cutting times! It also means a good time to catch up with lovely relatives or great friends!
These visits can be filled with joy and anticipation or filled with dread as you have to cope with sleepless nights due to giving up your bed o, excessive partying and drinking as you cope with guests on holiday! For you it’s a life style with routine and new friends a disruption. For them a holiday to catch up with loved ones and get a cheap holiday at the same time!.
Yet for all of you it is a chance to be re-united. A chance to catch up on old memories and good times and a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the moment of now and to create new memories to tide them over the long dark winter months back in the UK and for you, a moment in time to savour in those months of separation ahead.
I guess that’s why I feel I have to help those dogs still separated from love, a warm bed, good food, a cuddle, a touch and even a daily walk.
Let me introduce you to one dog who would not take such opportunity as a mere glancing, fleeting opportunity and who you could help right before you put this paper aside.
Jess
She came into the pound with her sister over 18 months ago. We worked really hard to home them together and eventually after over 1,000 members on facebook all working together, radio stations and newspapers we found a home for them, together. But it was not the end of the story as the two sisters together were a bit too much trouble together, it hurt us to have to split them up but finding happiness for them became the priority. It was heart-breaking to have one of them returned to the pound, yet this one Jess has shown to be a lovely girl.
She gets on great with her new friends and loving her time in the park for a run and chasing the balls you throw for her. Perhaps now you can show her the love she needs to be re-united with her new family. Please give her a chance and share some love.
For me, July has given me the chance to be re-united with very Special friends, one’s I know who will follow me if I move from Spain to another country. Not because of the cheap holiday but because that connection between us is strong, perhaps unbreakable and is full of love and commitment to us as an honorary family. We cherish the time we have together, the fun, the memories and also because we are there for each other for life, good and bad. I wish that for Jess too.
For more dogs please check out our facebook page Benidorm Dog Pound needs your help to raise funds to treat our dogs in need. We need you to help us walk our dogs and socialise them to be ready to move into a new home. You can donate unwanted items to our stall on a Saturday at El Cisne. Donate funds using paypal at yeso1977@hotmail.com. How about spending an hour or two with us walking the dogs any day between Monday and Saturday 10am to 1pm. We love meeting you and so do the dogs. Call Maria on 0034 677 37 33 96. If you can bring leads along then that would be fantastic too.
Another way to help is to become a cyber buddy for a dog. We have so many dogs that a lot don’t ever leave the pound and end up dead one morning on a cold concrete floor. A cyber buddy changes that and you can help from anywhere in the world. It’s easy to do and makes a huge difference to a dog finding a new forever home. It takes just 2-3 minutes a day for you! If you had to re-home your dog you would give more than that a day to find it a fantastic home. So please help us do the same for the lost dogs in your favourite holiday resort Benidorm,
