A star struck month!

Well April has brought with it some fabulous weather and also a time to mix with true stars and celebrities.

The true stars came out to play for a night to celebrate after many, many hours of selfless giving to charity each and every day.
Costa Blanca Dog Homing is a great charity that is ‘only’ a page on Facebook and yet has over 11,000 members across the world who pull together to save dogs. There was a case of a van carrying rescue dogs to their new homes and it broke down. This was in France and yet within an hour help was there for the dogs and the stranded drivers. Unfortunately it happened again just as the van landed in England and again Costa Blanca Dog Homing members came to the rescue.

In true selfless act Becky behind this great page asked that the award go to the lead volunteers Inma and Peludita from Benidorm Dog Homing. The evening was a Gala Ball arranged by Bay Radio Charity Awards. It was a lovely evening at The Marriott Hotel in Denia. They were not the only Charity there to be honoured, there were so many fabulous ones and even with the British Consulate and The Mayor of Denia there to present the awards, it was the stars of the Charities who were the leading lights on the night. A video was made of each charity and of course for me it was the Benidorm Dog Homing one that made me cry as we heard about dogs who come in, so abused and neglected that they don’t make it. Then we saw a clip of one amazing dog who did make it! That is what makes charities like Benidorm Dog Homing so special, it’s the care and passion poured into everything that each and every volunteer can do to help save these dogs.
If you do one thing after reading this blog about passion then I ask you to become friends on Facebook with these two great pages. It does not matter where  you are in the world as by joining Costa Blanca Dog Homing or Benidorm Dog Homing your joining and caring and sharing will help dogs find a home and leave the bad experiences behind them.
Then it was onto a stint for me as an extra on the Benidorm TV series, yes lots of people take the chance to do this and I was luckily enough to be a selected one.

Meeting people with a passion for life as we wait for the call on set for the TV show Benidorm.

You have to be someone who is prepared to get up at 04.45 every morning for a week to get the chance to be on the show.

Someone who is happy to mix easily with other people and to react quickly to the call ‘On set!’.

It’s a chance to meet the stars and to see Johnny Vegas. Here is another example of a person with passion. Passion for his craft in acting and for the people who made him famous. Time and time again he crossed the ‘star’ threshold of a curtain that blocked the public from seeing him, to spend time with his fans to be heckled ‘Monkey’ from his TV adverts. People on the street were stopping him, in the hotel foyer, by the pool and he always had a moment to spare and a smile as a photograph was taken. A man with passion for what he does and for the people who make him a star.

Passion can be about anything in life, it could even be about life itself. We all need to find something to be passionate about as this makes us different from those around us, it gives us hope. Something to measure life’s successes and lessons against.
Find your passion and live your life to the full.

Here is my current passion
ROCO. ——BORN. 9-11-2011
Benidorm Pound life —-a long time!

Roco 2 Roco 1

Absolutely love this guy as he is energetic, affectionate and such a happy boy

He has been in the pound a long time. He is friendly and loveable with other dogs. Good on the lead and happy to have company and as you can see he loves kisses. He shares with two other dogs and gets on very well with them. Always happy to see anyone – unlike me he doesn’t have favorites’ – he loves everybody.
Please join our pages and help us find him a home.
