Thursday the sea turned brown and I’ve noticed that it seems to mean that there is a sea storm on its way.
The reason it goes brown is that the seaweed from the ocean floor has been dragged up by turbulence and bought into the shore. It leaves the beaches covered in dark seaweed and as yet I’m waiting to see if nature clears it up or the local council. I’m betting on nature! The next day dawns and the waves come in, it was an amazing sight and some of them must have been over 6 foot high to breach the breakwater the way they did.
Further along the road I thought this made a lovely picture.
I started to walk out of town with the aim of finding a restaurant that has got people talking. I didn’t find it but came across the Riu de l’Algar meeting the Mediterranean.
A lovely sight and actually even better today as the sea was winning the battle and was actually coming up stream!
Then it was a walk around the back of the river and back into the centre of town and I came across a lovely little village area, with quiet walkways and lovely houses.
So close to town yet I would never have guessed it was there!
The final view of the walk was just a short way up the river, I came across the railway line just as the light was changing. So ended my evening stroll and the discovery of a small village so near the centre of this large town of Altea.
So even though you think you know what is around you, take another look as you yet be surprised, pleased, amazed.
I am finding myself looking forward to seeing if you’ve posted the next installment!
What an inspirational person you are – I can learn so much from you!
Thank you, Gill
Thanks for the lovely comment.
I can say that I learn from you too. I always learn from the rich tapestry of people, sights and events around me and this is a wonderful opportunity to say what I see.
Emotions are more difficult to describe and they take time to erupt, evolve and emerge into something new and I hope you find strength to become the evolution too.
