Will just a walk make me feel better?

Want to do something but just don’t have the energy?
You know a walk ion the fresh air will be lovely, but just can’t be bothered!
Walked to and from work and surely that’s enough?
After a hard day in work all I want is a hot meal and the TV!

All things we are likely to say and yet what is behind each comment that could mean you are not being the best you can be for your health?

Want to do something but just don’t have the energy?

Early evening sunlight over the sea to Wales

It has been a while since I had the energy to go for a walk down to the beach. Today with the windy weather I’ve had the chance to go for that walk.
It wasn’t the walks of previous times just a short stroll to the beach and I managed to catch the sun playing over the mountains and the sea. And do you know what, all of a sudden I felt better for just having ‘been ‘ there.

You know a walk in the fresh air will be lovely, but just can’t be bothered!

The air in the city is polluted with traffic. The noise levels are high. People everywhere. Colours that assail your senses. These are all things that affect your adrenal glands and can make you feel tired, irritable and can give you a headache.
Try and find your own patch of nature. If it’s a small patch of grass then don’t be self conscious, kick your shoes off and drain away all the toxins of the day!

Walked to and from work and surely that’s enough?

Was the walk energetic enough to and from work to actually do you good? Well an extra 20 minute walk will burn off calories, get your metabolic rate working and will also release tryptophan – a feel good hormone. So plenty of reasons to energize yourself with a walk and especially if you take time to enjoy the moment rather than rehash about the gossip and  stress of the day.

The evening light is a great way to naturally tell your body that the day is over. It starts the run down to sleep and helps you get a really good sleep. Then go home to a home cooked meal using fresh foods and make sure there are some carbohydrates in the meal. Not talking about a lot but a little bit of potato, rice, pasta or bread just to tell your body to slow down, digest the food and the day and be ready for sleep

I enjoyed my walk and got some lovely pictures to share.
