Massage of the lymphatic system is good for you whether or not you have a low thyroid, CFS, Fybromyalgia, adrenal issues or are just feeling a bit tired!
I have been seeing an osteopath who is trained in the Dr Raymond Perrin technique and can say that massage has really helped me. Having treatments and using an electrical massage machine has made a big difference to me. I have more mobility in my arms and legs again and much less pain in my upper back and neck area.
A few quotes from ‘wiki’ about the lymphatic system which may just encourage everyone out there to at least do some massage a day……
- The lymphatic system is a part of the circulatory system, comprising a network of conduits called lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph (from Latin lympha “water goddess”) uni-directionally towards the heart.
- The study of lymphatic drainage of various organs is important in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of cancer. The lymphatic system, because of its physical proximity to many tissues of the body, is responsible for carrying cancerous cells between the various parts of the body in a process called metastasis. The intervening lymph nodes can trap the cancer cells. If they are not successful in destroying the cancer cells the nodes may become sites of secondary tumors.
- Lymphoid tissue associated with the lymphatic system is concerned with immune functions in defending the body against the infections and spread of tumors.
So they are just a glimpse into the reasons why we should all do a bit of massage and help keep our lymphatic system open and moving.
Each morning I still do my Perrin massage as I know it also gets my arms moving too.
The nasal release (more pleasant than it sounds), the face massage, the head massage both sides and back, neck massage on the sides, breast massage, back massage, neck massage on the back. It takes about 5 minutes and is worth everyone of those.
I’m delighted to hear that Dr Raymond Perrin is coming to give a talk locally to me and I’ve got a seat at the event and a lift there and back!
How amazing is the universe to give me both of these gifts.
If I learn any thing more from the meeting that I can share, then you’ll be the first to know.
